Hat Club
Hat-Club are one of new breed of promoters who promote from the ground up. There's virtually no distinguishing between the party goers and the party throwers. "We didn't primarily go off to start our own club night," says Hat-Club progenitor Nick Piper. "From a selfish point of view the idea was to get me dj gigs. Initially it was like 'I can dj, let's try and do a small night.' We stumbled across the idea of hats because we were out at the Cross wearing hats and thought that would be a really good idea.. Since 2005 they've put on events in the Light Bar, the White House, Gong, Canvas, Tabernacle and others in London, as well as regular events in Brighton, and event overseas sojourns to Germany and Ibiza. "Our crowd is stylish people who like to dress up," enthuses Nick. "It's not pretentious, that's the nice thing about them. We try not to do a VIP room. It's a party, everyone's invited."
