‘Anarchic Cabaret for the Discerning’

Just as London’s cabaret/club nights are starting to become a little predictable the people behind the influential Whoopee Club are once again looking to spearhead a new way for Londoners to enjoy decadent imaginative nights out.

The ‘Whoopee Club’ began life as an incredibly popular monthly club night that launched a now established nightlife trend for dressing up and enjoying burlesque, cabaret and theatrical performance within a club setting.*

Whoopee is reintroducing its rebellious little sister club; Hip Hip previously lived at Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club where it offered packed rooms a taste of all things cabaret/burlesque from established acts to those auditioning to perform at Whoopee. Hip Hip has grown up a bit - she is almost a young lady now although she has not quite been able to leave her rebellious teenage side behind.

This night will be more akin to a music gig†than a sit down vintage style cabaret show. The night’s main drama will be defined by highly theatrical acts that will bring together circus, live art and old variety sets with specially invited guests who will not be seen at any other cabaret/burlesque nights.

No two nights will ever be the same - they will all be hosted by the high voltage Miss Polly Cupcake backed by a live band. Hip Hip will be produced and choreographed to a very high level. Imagine ‘Saturday Night at The Palladium’ meets a live gig by the ’Sex Pistols’ and you will be starting to get it. The show will lead seamlessly into an amazing party night with the best selection of DJs to keep everyone glued to the dance floor until the early hours.

Whoopee now concentrates on one or two large-scale site-specific events a year. The remainder of the time, it is a very select agency that offers discerning clients a taste of the most whispered about events in Britain over the past 5 years.
